Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes shared their thoughts on Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated appearance as guest on the “New Heights” podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce.

Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes are well aware of the attention Taylor Swift has brought to the Kansas City Chiefs―and particularly Travis Kelce. Therefore, they weren’t surprised to notice the buzz surrounding the upcoming episode of the “New Heights” podcast.

Travis and his brother Jason broke the internet this week by revealing Swift‘s appearance as guest on their show, with the episode releasing on Wednesday at 7:00 PM (ET). With the announcement being a big talking point this week, both Reid and Mahomes faced questions about the podcast.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference after Wednesday’s training camp practice, Reid and Mahomes revealed a different approach. While both of them spoke highly of the couple, the Chiefs coach admitted he won’t be listening to the podcast―but the quarterback will do so.

Reid won’t tune in, but wishes all the best for Kelce and Swift

No, but listen, I’m like, really old,” Reid said when asked if he plans to listen to the Kelce brothers’ podcast with Swift, as quoted by A to Z Sports.

My grandkids will be all over it. So I’m happy for him. Yeah, both of them, you know, they like each other. And what a plus that is.

You know, they care about each other. And that’s, I think that’s the most important thing. The older you get, you want these guys to have somebody they can settle down with, and that whole deal, and so, you know, I think it’s a neat deal for them, both of them.

“No, it surprised me, too,” Mahomes said when asked if he knew Swift would announce her new album on the Kelce’s podcast.

“I mean, I knew before y’all did just because, like, they called me after the podcast was done. They called me – they called Brit (Brittany Mahomes).

Me, and I was like, in the back of the FaceTime, but I knew that I’m obviously super excited.

I mean, just knowing Taylor (Swift) and seeing the process from just a little bit closer of how she makes the albums, it’s going to be amazing, because how much work she puts into it, and what better place to announce (her new album) than the New Heights podcast, where I feel like she can be herself and showcase who she is.

Unlike his coach, the quarterback will be among those tuning in when the episode releases: “And I think people are going to be really excited to watch it tonight.

I haven’t seen it yet. I’ve seen a little bit of clips, just like everybody else, but I’ll be tuned in tonight at I think it’s 7 p.m. ET, so I’ll be able to have something to watch here on this this night off that I have.”
