It has been revealed that Prescott played a crucial role in helping Senior Vice President of Communication Tad Carper’s cancer diagnosis.

Prescott helped to launch cancer screenings for the Cowboys’ coaches after a conversation with former head coach Mike McCarthy, 62.

The veteran quarterback’s mother had died of colon cancer in 2013.

Carper was invited to have a screening after a space opened up.

He was later diagnosed with stage two throat cancer.

Prescott has praised the screening initiative from the Cowboys after helping to save Carper’s life.

“Understanding what I’ve been through with losing my mom to cancer and understanding how important early screening is,” Prescott said to ESPN.

“It was a no-brainer. To just play a part in it is more than enough.”

It has been a frustrating 2025 NFL season for Prescott and his Cowboys.

The quarterback showed off his impressive body transformation ahead of the new campaign.

But the Cowboys have claimed just six wins and one tie from 14 games this year.

However, Prescott continues to make a profound impact off the field with his Faith Fight Finish Foundation.

Yet Carper remains infinitely grateful for the quarterback.

“I told him, ‘I think you just saved my life,’” Carper said. I walked in, got tested. Took blood, as simple as that. Walked out and never thought about it again.

“I had surgery to remove the tumor. My doctors told me if it was two months later we’d be having a different conversation and result.”

Quarterback Prescott has become increasingly frustrated with the Cowboys as the 2025 season has progressed.

The Cowboys remain in playoff contention as they sit second in the NFC East.

They will host the Los Angeles Chargers at AT&T Stadium on Sunday.
