Marcus Williamson, 27, admitted to robbing the banks on Monday, March 23, as per The Columbus Dispatch.

Williamson played for four years with the Buckeyes from 2017 to 2021.

He played as a defensive back.

The ex-college football star committed the robberies over a two-month period.

This occurred between March and April 2024.

Williamson has pleaded guilty to five second-degree felonies and four third-degree felonies.

He had originally been charged with 17 counts of robbery.

This was accompanied by six counts of felony theft and one count of misdemeanor theft.

The banks were all located in Franklin County, Ohio.

Assistant Franklin County Prosecutor Jason Manning has said that Williamson said or implied that he had a gun during five of the robberies.

Williamson allegedly passed notes to bank tellers demanding money, according to court records.

It has been claimed that he stole $22,000 from the banks.

But he did not receive money at every robbery.

Williamson was arrested on April 24, 2024, after leaving the First Merchants Bank at 5909 N. High St.

He was already under investigation at the time of his arrest.

Court records state that he was in possession of money from the bank when he was arrested.

He could face more than 40 years in prison.

Williamson will be sentenced by Franklin County Common Pleas Court Judge Sheryl Munson on Thursday, June 25.
