Bijan Robinson wants this one back.
The Falcons running back used a homophobic slur during a postgame interview on following the Falcons’ 29-28 come-from-behind road win over the Buccaneers on Thursday and apologized shortly after on X.
While discussing a play that resembled something out of a backyard football game, Robinson said with a laugh: “Smear the q—r, that’s what this is, smear the q—r.”

“Hey everyone I want to apologize for the insensitive comment I made in the broadcast, it was a football game we used to play as a kid but that’s not an excuse,” Robinson tweeted early Friday morning.
“I recognize the mistake and make sure to do better in the future. It was not reflective of my beliefs and I am so sorry to those I offended seriously!”
Robinson helped the Falcons (5-9) pull off an improbable win Thursday by tallying 175 total yards and one touchdown, with Atlanta overcoming a 28-14 fourth-quarter deficit.
His strong night earned him a spot on the Amazon Prime postgame show alongside tight end Kyle Pitts, who enjoyed the best game of his career with 11 catches for 166 yards and three touchdowns, and quarterback Kirk Cousins, who turned back the clock with a 375-yard, three-touchdown showing.
Bijan Robinson totaled 175 yards Thursday night.
Richard Sherman asked Robinson about the aforementioned play, noting how the former Texas star “grew up in the backyard” before the running back responded with the gay slur.
Someone else on the set quickly followed by saying, “Kill the carrier,” which is what the game Robinson mentioned is more commonly known as.
Robinson and the Falcons snapped their two-game losing streak with the win Thursday, while also dropping the Buccaneers (7-7) to second place in the NFC South behind the Panthers.
The 23-year-old now has 1,174 rushing yards and 684 receiving yards (1,858 total yards) with six rushing scores and two through the air.
Atlanta now enjoys a lengthy break before visiting the Cardinals in Week 15.
